The Super Power Behind Your Personality Type and Learning Style
linking personality expression with particular learning styles can be exactly what you needed…
Recently we’ve been talking at length about the importance of knowing, not only your personality type, but the personality type of those you’re working with. In separate conversations we regularly express how paramount it is to know how people best receive information. In fact, this is true in marketing messages, staff communications, and even team projects.
Last night I (Stefan) had an epiphany. I’m sure it’s been considered before, but it was new for me. Why don’t we as entrepreneurs take the time to discover the link between our personality types and our learning styles. Getting a better awareness of both and maximizing all we know about them would make us pretty unstoppable in our efforts.
So I did what I do, and I got on facebook and expounded about my personality type (ESTJ), and my predominate learning style (Auditory Learner). I walked through the pros and cons of having them together and what using them both to their greatest potential looks like in my life.
“This moment of revelation was like staring at the connection between my two personal super powers!!!”
After chatting through this with Joy for a bit, she suggested we drop some links so everyone could link their super powers together and see more bountiful efficiency and productivity in their business. So yea, that’s what we are doing. Even if you know your Myers-Briggs personality type and your learning style, it’s always good to check them again. They can be fluid, and can change as you grow through your journey as an entrepreneur.

Once you’ve done your two checks tell us about what you’ve discovered. You can always join The Elite Circle and be a part of the conversation there, or just hit us up on Facebook and leave us a message. We’d love to learn more about your super powers, and may even shout you out on our channels!
Much Love,

Get to know Stefan….
I am an ESTJ & auditory learner.
ESTJs are notorious for direct and non-wavering communications. We offer and appreciate the transference of information and ideas efficiently. I can certainly admit, most times, (MOST TIMES) I am much less interested in the “story about the thing” and more focused on what the actual “thing” is.
This allows me to process information quickly in an attempt to make decisive actions. (one of my personal super powers is actually the ability to connect dots quickly)
I do recognize though, this can cause friction with those receiving communications from me as an ESTJ. I can be somewhat unforgiving in my conveyance of information. I expect receptors to be listening, attentive, and ready to move forward (when appropriate). Because of this, I find myself looking for balance to become a more effective ESTJ. (Okay I’ll be honest, I “RECOGNIZE” the need for balance. I’m not always looking for it – 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣)
But when I do, I have to be cognizant to slow down and be as intentional and strategic with others, as I like to be within myself and my dealings. It is a constant reminder for me to first understand then be understood. (a place where Joy is often a mirror for me)
I try to be aware and careful of how I convey my ideas and desires to others, as I understand that my style communication can be lost if I don’t also address the nature or emotion of the situation.
The ESTJ in me is continually learning to be intentional to insert personal interest into my speech and most importantly my non-verbals. Even though I’d rather not, and sometimes I won’t, just because it’s okay for me to be who I am, how I am. But it’s also not all about me (thanks David Taylor- and please insert my sarcastic tone when you read your name sir LOL)
Thus, I take into consideration how my words, facial expressions, and body movements, all create a tapestry of meaning, that others will receive or repel based on how they see its relation to them personally. Although I am not responsible for others reaction to me, it is important to me that what I offer or convey be received and embraced. I understand the value of what comes out of me when I speak, so I’ve begun to develop an “intentional asthma” to save some of my breath perse.
Now… Add to this ESTJ personality type a predominately auditory learning style and you’ve the makings of what can be perceived as beauty and agony, flowing together like water and wind.
The combo of my personality type and my learning style can lead to magnificent explanations and conversations, but it also can make it difficult to actually allow myself to connect with others. I have NO PROBLEM allowing others to connect with me, but when the script gets flipped I sometimes deflect.
This ESTJ, who prefers direct and efficient communications, finds it problematic to listen, even though it’s the way he learns best. However when exploited, and sometimes it is, this leads to exemplary understandings, acceptance, and results.
Finding the marriage between the ESTJ and the auditory learner has been interesting. It forces me to make some changes to my communication tactics, if I ultimately want to see them successful. Ideally these changes shouldn’t be difficult, because as an auditory learner, I crave to hear and listen to information that I desire to take in. The issue comes when, as an ESTJ, I can be “selective” about taking in the information that others provide or offer. Finding the balance between these two narratives of my personality has offered me new pathways in life, not only for me, but also for those I connect with.
If you read all of this thank you. I have NO IDEA why I decided to drop this bit of transparency on FB today. But I guess it’s a nice glimpse into a man who cares so deeply for each of you, but would sometimes just rather not…
Tell me about yourself in the comments. I’d love to learn more about you.
